International Video Art Festival «Now&After» is being held in Moscow for the fourth time, and this year – in collaboration with the State M«Now&After»useum of the History of GULAG. Traditionally, we present the festival program as a multi-channel video installation that will be demonstrated in the museum during 4 weeks. At the same time all participants’ works will be shown as one-day video installations “Video Now”.

This year’s festival theme is “Memory Migration”. Memory is a special human ability to accumulate the past, to keep it for the present and future, overcoming the oblivion. We suggested the artists to explore memory as a flexible structure that is migrating in time and space from person to person, from generation to generation, between social groups and nations, between cities and continents, between virtual and real world.
There were 1041 applications from 72 countries received this year, which reflects the great variety of artists’ interests and strategies in working with the topic. 40 artists will take place in Now&After’14 competition and non-competition programs.
