Galindez by Diego Bruno @ Bafici, Argentine, April 13-24
Diego Bruno‘s Galindez will have its South American premiere at Bafici – Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema. The 18th edition of the festival is held from April 13 to 24. Bruno’s film is a part of Argentine Short Film Exhibition, commissioned by the artistic director Javier Porta Fouz.
Galindez is based on the theater play El Señor Galindez, written by Argentine psychoanalyst, dramaturgist and actor Eduardo Pavlovsky in 1972. The film takes as its setting the Payró Theater in Buenos Aires, in which the play was first released in January 1973. Diego Bruno’s work focuses on the formation and representation of ideology, the position of the intellectual, and forms of representation, actualization of historical complexities.
Born in 1978 in Argentina, Diego Bruno lives and works in Helsinki. He studied History of Art at the University of Buenos Aires, holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Escola Massana, Barcelona and an MFA in Fine Arts from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.
