The artistic Vehviläinen brothers, Juha and Vesa, AKA Pink Twins been active since 1997, creating original videos that combine visual art and music. Their works have been shown at exhibitions and festivals on all continents and they have also performed live shows in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia. The brothers were also nominated for an Ars Fennica award in 2015. Pink Twins challenges human perception and its limits with their works. Colorful and abstract pictures move and live to the rhythm of electronic music.
Parametronomicon is an intense, audiovisual and even hypnotic 3-channel video installation. You can’t take your eyes off the biomechanic colourful organism that comes apart only to reconstruct itself into a new form. Parametronomicon begins like the beginning of the world, in almost complete silence and darkness. Then colours, light and shapes appear. The constantly evolving organism multiplies and reforms, it keeps growing until it covers almost everything. When the end is nigh, the colours darken and the pieces break chaotically. The life cycle of the organism comes to an end in the silent darkness.
The exhibition is produced in collaboration with AV-arkki.
