Anssi Kasitonni’s Finnish Midsummer 2169 (2016) and Dave Berg’s God Rot Their Souls (2015) are screened at Shorts México, held from September 1–8 in México City.

Anssi Kasitonni’s Finnish Midsummer 2169 was selected in the international animation competition. It is a romantic sci-fi comedy about a female vampire bat who wants to get lucky during a solar eclipse taking place in Finland during Midsummer Eve in 2169.

The screening in the World Cinema Showcase at Shorts México marks the World Festival Premiere for Dave Berg’s God Rot Their Souls. The film is a dystopic dream of a world where humanity has turned against itself. The narrative and the scenery consist of different actions and places connected by the ominous intensity that slides in and out through the film.
