Hanna Haaslahti (b. 1969) is a media artist with a special interest in new media. Her work centres around interactive installations and experimental film. Haaslahti has studied multimedia and photography at the Lahti University of Applied Sciences Institute of Design, stage design at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Verona, participated in an exchange programme at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1996 to 1997. She graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki Medialab in 1996. In 2003, Haaslahti’s White Square received an honorary mention at the Vida 6.0 Art and Artificial Life competition. In the same year, her Solarium was shortlisted for the ZKM Medienkunstpreis competition final. In 2005, Haaslahti was awarded the Promotion Centre for Audiovisual Culture (AVEK) prize.
